My best speculation is that there is a race by the security company's to become the "best" detetector of PUP's to help stop Cyber Crime. Behind the scenes there must be a lot of lawyering-up to contest this behavior by security and utility program companies. We are all going to be speculating at this point until the Security Companies announce this new tactic. Now Avira is also detecting ASC and Uninstaller as Trojans (not just PUPs). I wonder if other people who questioned their (MBAM's) mission got booted from their forums too?

Most conversations at MBAM about ASC PRO are now locked. IOBit'ss MalwareFigher was a good price through ASC PRO and so now I am covered with a reputable anti-malware/anti-virus program as well as ASC PRO.
I was polite too! Considering what they did I just purchased IObit's MalwareFighter and MBAM can kiss my patootie! :x No response from them other than they removed my post and deleted my usser account.

Yesterday, about 17 hours ago, my user account at MBAM was deleted after I asked them to explain why they suddenly decided to go after legit Windows Utilities such as ASC PRO. Launch your Malwarebytes program > go to its Settings > click Protection > find Potential Threat Protection, change the settings for Potentially Unwanted Programs (PUPs) from Treat PUPs as malware (recommended) to Ignore Detection. In order to continue using our program, please try the solution below. In the next pane choose the option “Always Ignore” and Malwarebytes will no longer detect Advanced System Care.
